The Mamba™ MRAP: Real-World Resilience

The Mamba™ Military Armored Vehicles were engineered from the ground up to provide maximum protection for its crew. With STANAG Level 4a4b blast protection, it’s designed to survive even the most brutal IED attacks. In fact, the Mamba™ APC vehicle has stood up to IED blasts exceeding 80 kg in conflict zones like Somalia, Mali, and Niger—and still, there have been no fatalities. These aren’t just hypothetical tests; this vehicle has been put through the wringer and has proven its resilience in the field, far beyond what’s required by international standards.

For instance, in Somalia, the Mamba™ Mk5 MRAP withstood a 50 kg side blast IED—a significant test of the vehicle’s durability. Remarkably, all 9 occupants were unharmed with no fatalities or injuries.

Similarly, the Mk5 Iveco MRAP endured an 80 kg IED under the front of the vehicle and came out with no fatalities. These tests are not just theoretical; they are real-world examples of the Mamba’s exceptional protection

The Mk7 has been subjected to even more intense scenarios, such as massive pressure plate mines and shaped charge IED attacks. In Mali, for example, the Mk7 withstood a 20 kg net explosive content blast—twice the level of STANAG 4a4b protection—with no fatalities. Similarly, in Niger, the vehicle successfully defended against multiple shots from 7.62x54API and .50 caliber rounds with no penetrations. These are just a few of the many real-world examples where the Mamba™ Mk7 has exceeded expectations, proving its capability to endure unimaginable conditions.
